Commentary on lead screening update from the US Preventive Services Task Force
David Jacobs, PhD, adjunct associate professor of environmental and occupational health sciences at the UIC School of Public Health, is the author of a new report on lead screening for asymptomatic children. The report concluded that questionnaires and other clinical prediction tools cannot accurately identify asymptomatic children with elevated lead levels. The commentary then offers updates for best practices to address this challenge.
